Secret LinkedIn Strategies That Increase Traffic
LinkedIn is the most popular business network on the market. Why are so many people not using it correctly or even to their benefit? Most people do what they know to do and resort to that. Today we are going to share with you a few strategies that will blow your mind.
Let’s start with the fact that LinkedIn is mostly driven by search which also indicates that keyword relevance is incredibly important. LinkedIn ranks profiles based on keyword relevance. Therefore, if you really want to rank for two or three keywords then start by reviewing the first 5 or 10 profiles that rank for those keywords in the search. We recommend not trying to rank for more than two or three keywords because then it starts to become redundant.
When you are checking the keywords in the first 5 to 10 profiles, make sure you count how many times they have used the keyword in their profile. Then add the keyword to your profile the same amount of times. One rule of thumb, make sure it makes sense when you add them to your profile. This is according to LinkedIn’s policy.
The second strategy is to join the largest groups within your niche on LinkedIn. You can join up to 50 groups and participate in any open group. The difference is that the closed groups have a lock on them. The open groups allow you to participate without joining them. Start participating in the discussions and offer your knowledge and expertise. The premise of this is for the owner of the group to recognize your value. In addition, when you share added value to the group discussions, you can also promote your own website/blogs twice a week. You do not want it to look like you are spamming them.
We share our articles within 50 different groups on LinkedIn and as a result we receive 500 a visitors a day from just LinkedIn. A key tip is to monitor other posts within the group to see which ones are going viral and mimic those.
From our experience the best times to have discussions and participate in them are usually between 9 AM and 10AM EST. If the group member subscribes to the weekly digest emails, then they will receive them during the time listed above.
Last but not least, when you are a part of over 50 targeted groups on LinkedIn, you are able to access their members just by clicking on the members tab. The best part of LinkedIn is being able to own your own group and inviting targeted members to it. You can do this by messaging the members of the different groups you are a part of. Just make sure you do not send more than 400 messages a day because it will be considered spamming. LinkedIn may also block you from adding new connections. The best way to get connections over to your group is to make an announcement as the owner and invite members from other groups with a hyper-personalized message.
